Dorset Integrated Pulmonary Rehabilitation Service

Dorset County Hospital and Dorset HealthCare have come together as one integrated Dorset-wide Pulmonary Rehabilitation Service as of 1 October 2026 as part of a commitment to delivering the very best care for people living with chronic respiratory conditions across the county.

Pulmonary rehabilitation is a highly effective, evidence-based intervention that helps people improve their quality of life, reduce breathlessness, build confidence in self-management, and remain healthier and more independent.

Colleagues from both organisations have worked closely together to further strengthen and develop pulmonary rehabilitation services fit for the future. Through collaboration, engagement, and a shared vision, they have designed a single, county-wide service delivered by Dorset County Hospital to provide patients with more consistent and equitable access to care, supported by common standards, streamlined pathways and a sustainable workforce model.
