The Macmillan Breast Care Service
The role of the clinical nurse specialist for breast care is to provide support and counselling to women and their families prior to, during and after any treatment for breast disease/ cancer.
We link in very closely with the multi-disciplinary team to provide outstanding care that matters to you.
Our service also includes:
- Being available for you at clinics
- Providing information
- Pre and post-operative care
- Prosthesis fitting and bra measurements
- Lymphoedema assessment and referral onto lymphoedema service if appropriate
- Teaching, research, health promotion and education.
Macmillan breast nurse specialists are trained nurses with many years of experience in different nursing areas. We now specialise in breast disease and cancer.
You can contact us on 01305 255160, Monday to Thursday, 9am-5pm and Friday 9am-4pm. If we are not in the office, please leave a message on our 24-hour answerphone and we will return your call as soon as possible.
