Pelvic Health Physiotherapy: Patient Initiated Follow-up Appointments – A Guide for Patients and Carers
Patient Initiated Follow-up for physiotherapy
You have been highlighted by your therapist as someone who is suitable to go on a Patient Initiated Follow-up (PIFU) pathway. This means you can contact us, if you need to, to book a further follow-up appointment or telephone discussion from a clinician, for your current condition.
Should you experience any symptoms or complications that concern you following your consultation, please contact the department.
From your physiotherapy consultation so far, you have had a chance to discuss and learn about:
- your diagnosis/explanation of your current condition
- the actions/exercises that will help the condition now and, in the future
- some common side-effects you may experience, and how to manage them, e.g. how to manage pain or discomfort
- what rare conditions that might arise and the actions you need to take if they do.
