Dorset County Hospital celebrates apprentice achievements at awards ceremony
Apprentices at Dorset County Hospital (DCH) have been recognised at a special awards ceremony.
DCH currently has over 200 staff undertaking apprenticeships across a wide range of clinical and support services roles, and at different levels – from Level 2 (GCSE equivalent) through to a Level 7 (master’s degree).
The Apprenticeship Awards recognise those that are excelling in their studies and demonstrate the Trust’s values. The winners of this year’s awards are:

| Rising star award | Beth Hill | Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner Coastland College |
| Excellence in functional skills award | Jess Miller | Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker and Maths Functional Skills Bournemouth and Poole College |
| Commitment to professional development award | Vicki Hyde | Level 6 Occupational Therapist Degree Apprenticeship University of the West of England |

Emma Hallett, Deputy Director of Workforce Development at Dorset County Hospital, presented the winners with their certificates. She said:
“Studying and learning while working takes a great deal of effort and commitment. We are incredibly proud of all our apprentices and the staff that give their time to support and mentor their colleagues.
“Apprenticeships allow our staff to develop their skills, build their confidence and further their own careers. Most importantly, they then put their learning into practice at work which helps us provide the best possible care for patients.”
Held during National Apprenticeship Week, the awards are organised by the Apprenticeship Team and were supported by the following businesses:
