Background
General surgeon with a special interest in breast oncoplastic and reconstructive surgery, hernia and endocrine surgery.

Modernised One Stop Clinic for urgent breast referrals allows, complete triple assessment (mammogram, US, biopsy) on the same day. 
Stratified follow-up for breast cancers with majority of patients on patient-led follow-up pathway with direct access to.

Special interests
Applying plastic techniques in surgery for breast cancer to achieve optimal cosmetic outcome.

Symmetrising surgery for breast cancer survivors (breast reduction, mastopexy or augmentation to the contralateral breast).

One or two stage breast reconstructions using various tissue expanders and breast implants including pre-pectoral one-stage immediate breast reconstruction and latissimus dorsi flap reconstruction.

Parathyroid surgery.

New treatments introduced
Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy using Magtrace (magnetic tracer) and blue dye for breast cancer.
Therapeutic mammoplasty (combination of lumpectomy and breast reduction) for breast cancer.
Immediate and delayed breast reconstruction.

Background
Mr Mitchell graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2004. He undertook surgical training in Leicester, Nottingham and Glasgow. Mr Mitchell undertook research into stomach cancer at the University of Toronto and was awarded a PhD by the University of Nottingham for his work on nutrition and muscle wasting.

Background
I am a Consultant General and Upper Gastro-intestinal Surgeon at the Dorset County Hospital since 2006. I am an experienced general surgeon, with special interests in upper gastro-intestinal and laparoscopic surgery. 

I completed my higher surgical training in the Wessex Deanery in the UK, in addition to obtaining surgical training at the Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute in India. I was the Clinical Director for Surgery and Urology at the Dorset County Hospital and also served as the Surgical Tutor of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, for specialist surgical trainees in the Wessex Deanery. 

I was the Lead Upper GI Cancer Clinician in West Dorset and is actively involved in training medical students and surgical trainees. I am dedicated to research and has published many papers in various journals and e-textbooks.

Gallstones and gallbladder disease.
Pancreatitis.
Acid reflux.
Cancer of gullet, stomach, pancreas and liver.

Background
I completed my undergraduate medical training at St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London Hospital’s medical school before accepting a surgical training rotation and obtained his MRCS and CCBST. I continued my surgical training in London and gained further experience at the Royal Marsden Hospital where I developed an interest in the surgical management of cancer.

After a period of research at University College London, where I studied neo-angiogenesis (new vessel growth in cancer cells), I obtained a Masters in Surgical Sciences, gaining a distinction in his understanding of cancer and the environment. I then completed his higher surgical training rotation in London and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons.

I gained further experience and developed his sub-specialist interests in laparoscopic surgery and surgical management of bowel cancer and inflammatory bowel disease during a Fellowship at University College London Hospital, before taking up a substantive position as a Consultant at Dorset County Hospital.

I currently College Tutor to the Royal College of Surgeons of England and sits on the Wessex deanery specialist advisory committee as the higher surgical training representative to Dorset County Hospital.
