Flooding at Dorset County Hospital
Latest update - 6.30pm on Friday 24 March
We are working very hard to repair and clean areas of our Emergency Department (ED) that were affected by last night’s flood, which was caused by an internal leak. Whilst parts of ED will remain closed over the weekend, other areas of the hospital will be used to make sure the department can continue to operate normally. Please help us help you this weekend by using the right NHS service, including Urgent Treatment Centres and Minor Injuries Units.
Friday morning (24 March)
There has been a flood in our hospital overnight. The Emergency Department has been affected and the incident is being managed with the support of our partner hospitals - University Hospitals Dorset, Dorset Healthcare, Yeovil Hospital and Salisbury District Hospital.
To make sure our Emergency Department can treat those in need of urgent care, please use the right NHS service and make use of local Urgent Treatment Centres (UTC) and Minor Injuries units (MIU)
Our other services are running as normal while this incident is resolved. Thank you.
